  • Uniting Egba Descendants,

Mission statement

Preserve Egba heritage

We celebrate and safeguard the language, customs, traditions, and values of the Egba people for generations to come in Canada.

Foster unity and solidarity

We build strong bonds among Egba families and individuals across Canada, providing a sense of home away from home.

Support community welfare

We provide support for members in times of need — including bereavement, health challenges, and new arrivals settling in Canada.

Empower through education

We promote educational advancement and career opportunities for OPAC members and their children through scholarships and mentorship.

Who OPAC serves

OPAC proudly serves the Egba people — a proud Yoruba sub-group originating from Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria — who are now resident in Canada. Whether you were born in Egbaland, married into an Egba family, or are a descendant of Egba heritage, OPAC is your community.

Egba indigenes

Individuals born in Egbaland (Abeokuta, Odeda, Obafemi-Owode, Ifo LGAs) now living in Canada.

Egba descendants

Children and grandchildren of Egba people who wish to maintain their cultural identity in Canada.

Spouses & families

Non-Egba spouses of Egba members who embrace the culture and wish to participate in the association.

Organization Building Bridges.

Established in 2006, Olumo Progressive Association Canada Inc. has grown from a small
gathering of Egba descendants to a vibrant community of families united by culture, purpose,
and shared values. As a proud chapter of the Egba National Association of North America, we
connect our members to a network spanning the United States and Canada.

Named after the iconic Olumo Rock of Abeokuta (a symbol of strength and protection),
OPAC embodies the resilience and unity of our people. We are registered as a not-for-profit
